 ATTENTION Marianopolis!!!

The INTER-CEGEP FOOD DRIVE challenge is on!! Marianopolis Community will be participating once again in  the inter CEGEP food drive the to see which college is the most giving in time of need.

We invite the entire Marianopolis Community to join Congress by wearing RED on Tuesday November 27th as we UNITE AGAINST AIDS!!!

Show your support for the fight against HIV/AIDS by wearing RED on November 27th. Stop by the Congress booth across from Wayne's to pick up your RED ribbon and if you are wearing RED you can enter a draw to win two tickets to the UNITE AGAINST AIDS concert on November 28th at  the Bell Center featuring Avril Lavigne, Sarah Mclachlan and John Mayer! 

A big THANK YOU from Congress goes to everyone who helped make HALLOWEEN a fun experience. A special thanks goes to UNICEF.

The DARE TO WEAR event alone raised over $1000. Thanks to all the donors who made this possible as well as the faculty and staff who participated in this event. They are: Nicholas Carrier, Louise McLellan, Alain, Leger, Kareen Latour, Riccardo Catalano, and John Osborne. A special thanks goes to all these very BRAVE faculty.

The TRICK or EAT event also went successfully as they collected over 250 cans for SHARE THE WARMTH. A special thanks goes to the coordinator of Social Justice, Mary Lu, who made this possible, as well as all the volunteers who sacrificed their time.

Get a Chance to win 2 tickets to the concert UNITED AGAINST AIDS which takes place at the bell centre on Wednesday the 28^th of November. Singers such as Avril Levigne will be performing. To win tickets: wear RED on Tuesday November 27 ^th for AIDS or bring 5 CANS of non perishable goods to Wayne's on Thursday November 22^nd .

IN OTHER NEWS:

The Museum of Fine arts has free open exhibitions taking place until January.

Tuesday October 30^th

–        HAUNTED HOTEL will be set up in the Student Lounge hosted  by UNICEF

–        Pumpkin decorations will take place in the student lounge.  Pumpkins must be preordered for $2 at Wayne’s during activity Periods on Tuesday October 23^rd and Thursday October 25^th

Wednesday October 31^st HALLOWEEN

-         DRESS UP DAY.  Come take your picture in front of Wayne’s on the first floor to be eligible to win an IPOD.

-         All day from 10-4, face painters will be located in the school on the first floor near Wayne’s.  Come have your face painted by a professional!!!!!!

-         DARE TO WEAR.  Louise, director of student Service has agreed to wear PINK… a color which she absolutely hates…make a donation to UNICEF to see Louise in her FAVOURITE colour….

-         Preorder a Ghoul a gram during Activity Periods on October 23^rd and 25^th for a special someone.  Ghoul a grams will be distributed at Wayne’s on Wednesday October 31^st

All week of October 29^th a box will be placed at Wayne’s to donate food for TRICK OR EAT.  Please bring non perishable goods for the people who need it most.

Hey Everyone! It's Kyle. I hope you all had a great summer, and here we are already into the second week of school! Alright so maybe the congress board is a little rusty… I assure you that we'll be updating the site more often from now on, letting you all know what's going on in and around the school. You may (or may not) have noticed that we've already had 2 events, giving out freezies and the barbeque today…

Just so you have a general idea, here are some dates you might want to put into your agendas.

Join the Club Day is September 4th during Activity Period in F-105. It's a good chance to try new things, get involved in extra-curricular events and meet new people.

Congress Elections are September 13th. Don't forget to vote! I'm looking forward to meeting all the new congress members.

P.S. For Club Executives, don't forget about the MANDATORY meeting THIS Thursday, August 30th in D-120. Also, for all those interested in joining congress, don't forget to hand in your nomination forms. Thanks!
